What is worth watching today

Way back in the beginning of blogging time I used this very blog to spotlight a few articles that I felt friends might find interesting and want to know my opinions.   In many ways Facebook has replaced that specific need, since everyone now does a quick share and their opinion a couple times a day.

But for old times sake, and old school tech too, the stuff I'm watching today:
  • Like millions of other Americans, I hardly even care that today is the inauguration of Barack Obama for his second term.    The first one mattered, even though I wasn't a supporter, this second one matters not at all.   Same leaders, same gridlock.
  • Self Promotion Alert - I wrote this one - With a bit of irony and a desire to create some debate I wrote over at NWISM.com an article about the lack of collaboration in NW Indiana, the lack of tech start-up venture capital, and the argumentative fashion adopted by some in the spaces.
  • A recent connection for me, but a long time writer over at Little Indiana is doing a series on local blogs in Indiana.  A project I wish I had endeavored to follow through with years ago on my own NWIBlogs site.   She's adding social media support and doing some solid writing.
  • As many long time connections know, I am a home builder by passion and trade.  That means I spend much of my time working with real estate and mortgage professionals.  They are a special group, and entrepreneurism is rampant.   Although blogging again has diminished, sadly because social media content tends to be minimal and vapid, some are still creating solid and enduring content.
So 2013 holds some great excitement for Julie and I.   She has begun a full-time career with Prime Real Estate as a Valparaiso Families specialist.   And ... after a five year hiatus, we will be looking to build again this year.  Green Pointe Homes is ready to roll, well not entirely as I'm in a round of raising start-up capital.  More on that tomorrow ...

Coming Soon!
