$1 million dollars in county tax money is being requested by "for-profit" Pathways Family Center to open a teen drug treatment center.

I am curious why the topic originator is claiming that PFC is a 'for profit' entity. According to the Indiana Secretary of State, they are a 501c3. Either way though, no money should be given for the proliferation of child abuse and fraudulent business practices.
I can only report what I have learned, if you find better info please send me a link. I'm way committed to truth, but I was told that Pathways is a for profit center and our county would be handing them $1 million ... not a great idea in my book when Porter Starke could do it right here already with some financial assistance from the county.

Every corporate document I have regarding this program claims it is a non-profit organization. STRAIGHT, Inc. was also a non-profit org, as well as Tri-State Drug Rehabilitation and Counseling Program, Inc, which PFC acquired in March of 2006. That location is operating out of the same warehouse that STRAIGHT, Inc. used, but now it has a locked fence/cage with barbed wire on top of it which prevents kids from leaving. The issue has nothing to do with adiction. Pathway Family Center hides behind "drug rehabilitation" while using an endless psychological attack to brainwash the kids. I was one of those kids and was locked up in an identical program which just so happens to be a Pathway Family Center now.
They claim to be a different program now but I have received SEVERAL RECENT REPORTS of the same mind-crushing methods being used on kids. I never even had a drug problem when I went in at age 14, but if I wouldn't have admitted that and a whole lot more, I would have never seen the light of day or talk to your parents again.
That's how they deceive parents and the public. It is a "Fear-Based" program and if you don't say that the program saved your life while talking about how bad your past was, you will be punished and started over, which is hell.
Sleep deprivation, food deprivation, constant torment and stress positions are just a few ways they break the kids down. And there are much worse psychological tools they implement constantly.
I have made several attempts to reasonably communicate with this program to give them a chance to prove that they have changed, but they have lied to me repeatedly and will not allow me to see inside the building. They have also dropped communication with me and threatened to call the police. I have no doubt that this is essentialy the same program it once was. They brainwashed me and every tactic used on me in there was a text-book cult tactic.
This has nothing to do with addiction, that is always the defense to the argument and it is not valid because this issue is about severe psychological abuse masquerading as drug treatment. They always evade the topic by side-stepping the real issue. Their treatment model has been found to be unsuccessful and very harmful yet they profess the lie of having a higher succes rate than any other treatment model. This is based on a terribly flawed study and is laughable to say the least.
When you brainwash a kid, you can get them to exhibit any behavior you wish but in the end, the psychological trauma will come back to haunt them and this will hobble them mentally. This program only adds another problem to an already existing troubled family. Sure, the appearance for a year or two is grand but it is just a temporary mask and is not true.
Don't give these scam artists a dime to hurt families who are desperate and easily tricked into submission to a sick program!
