Lionel Young, of Calvary Church in Valparaiso, asks the quetion? Is the reformation over?

No, the reformation is not over.

The deep animosity and distrust between catholic and protestant that characterized this period is still alive and well. This aspect of the reformation should be ended, and I pray that it will.

The reformation continues in another sense as well. In John 17 Jesus prayed that all who believe would be one as He and the Father are one, so that the world may believe that He was God's anointed. In the same prayer, He affirmed that He had made God known to us, and that He we would continue to do so.

If God is continuing to reveal himself, and he desires us to be one, we would be most foolish in thinking that our fragmented religion, with its 25,000 plus denominations was fully formed.

The catholic church is not the same as it was in Luther's day. It is changing, and I believe that still more change is necessary.

The multidue of protestant churches should take a hint from her and realize that unity is essential to our witness of God. Sure the rate of change is slower this way than splitting off and forming a new church, but God is going to get what He's after, and He's got plenty of time to wait.

there is no god...but the bible was a good fantasy book....altohugh I think LOTR is better myself.
