Housing Bubble >>>> Not

Inman's blog has a great perspective builder on the bubble concept:

  • We like the cardboard box part Quote of the month from mortgage broker Dick Lepre.
  • "The concept is, for the most part, fallacious. Bubbles exist for things which people do not really need and buy for speculative purposes. The most recent example is the internet stock bubble of the 1990's. I see no evidence that a large number ofpeople are suddenly going to sell their homes and
  • a) live in rentals,
  • b) leave the country,
  • c) live in cardboard boxes and,
  • d) live in motor homes."

I think you are being foolhardy if you're suggesting that there are no housing bubbles in the United States.

If you can buy a home and sell it one year later for double its price, that's a bubble in the making.
